Indian markets closed on Friday (29 Aug) for local holidays

Indian stock, currency and bond markets will be closed on Friday (29 Aug 2014) for a local holiday. Trading will start again on Monday.

On Thursday, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex rises 0.29 % after earlier hitting a record high of 26,674.38. The Nifty rises 0.23 %.

The rupee weakened to 60.4950/5050 per dollar versus Wednesday’s (2 Sep 2014) 60.45/46 close. The benchmark 10-year bond yield closed stable at 8.56 %.
