Benchmark indices traded volatile to end flat on the third trading session of the week as investors remained cautious ahead of F&O expiry on Thursday. Domestic sentiments got a support from global markets also as Asian equities rose 0.6 per cent, joining a record-setting session for global markets as investors cheered upbeat factory activity in Europe and solid earnings on Wall Street. Nifty ended the session to close at 8920.
Private bank and Auto shares were the gainers for the day while IT stocks were the losers of the day.
