Grasim, ICICI Bank and Maruti were the top gainers of the day while ONGC, INFY and Dr Reddy were among the top losers of the day.

- Hyundai Motor’s unionizsed workers in South Korea voted to go on strike for a fifth year in a row after wage talks broke down, adding to the automaker’s troubles as it battles a sales slowdown.
- JP Morgan Chase shares rise after Q2 earnings beat estimates. The U.S.’s biggest bank said Q2 adjusted EPS was $1.55, up from $1.54 a year earlier. The bank’s revenue totaled $25.2 billion in the quarter vs. estimates of $24.5 billion.
