Benchmark indices traded lower on the third trading session of the week as the weak earnings pulled the Nifty down for the third continuous trading session. The upcoming expiry of the OCT F&O series on Thursday also hampered the sentiments. The Nifty ended the session to close at 8615.25i.e. 76.05 points lower.
IDEA, Kotak Bank, Hero moto Corp were the top gainers sof the day while Axis Bank, Tata motors DVR, Tata Steel were the top losers of the day.
Global Markets Update:
• The Waldorf Astoria hotel chain owner Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc reported a 1.6 percent rise in quarterly revenue, helped by higher room rates.
• European shares turned lower after a strong start on Tuesday, with Germany’s DAX briefly touching a new peak in 2016, after sentiment was knocked by mixed earnings on Wall Street and in Europe.
