Volatile trading session ended with decent gains. Key benchmark indices opened lower and extended losses in morning trade. Indices trimmed losses in early afternoon trade. Market wiped off losses and bounced into positive terrain in mid-afternoon trade. Benchmarks extended gains in late trade.
The Nifty 50 gained 66.35 points and settled at 10729.85. Media sector were the major gainer and IT sector were the major loser of the day.

China stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Mobile and Life Insurance sectors led shares lower. At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite lost 0.26% to hit a new 1-month low.
