Domestic stocks kick started trading for the day on a positive note after BJP leader B. S. Yeddyurappa was sworn in as chief minister of Karnataka. Stocks reversed early gains and sink in negative zone as the session progressed. Stocks suffered modest losses as Brent crude oil prices moved near the $80 per barrel mark as supplies tightened and demand remained strong. Realty sector were the major gainers while Media sector were the major losers of the day.

Japan stocks inched higher as gains in the Transportation Equipment; Pharmaceutical Industry and Textile sectors led shares higher. Nikkei 225 added 0.53%.
Philippines stocks tumbled today, as losses in the Property, Holding Firms and Banking & Financials sectors led shares lower. At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite lost 2.23%.
Taiwan stocks slipped as losses in the, Electronic Parts/Components and Semiconductor sectors led shares lower. At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.59%.
