Domestic stocks kick started trading for the day on a positive note after BJP leader B. S. Yeddyurappa was sworn in as chief minister of Karnataka. Stocks reversed early gains and sink in negative zone as the session progressed. Stocks suffered modest losses as Brent crude oil prices moved near the $80 per barrel mark as supplies tightened and demand remained strong. Realty sector were the major gainers while Media sector were the major losers of the day.

Australia stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Healthcare and A-REITs sectors led shares lower. At the close in Sydney, the S&P/ASX 200 fell 0.36%.
